Living Life Project Presented In-Camera
Rob Staffen, Rob Bell, Scott Taylor, Brian De Groote and Wayne Barber presented the ‘Living Life Mission’ project and business plan to St Marys and Perth South Councils in a three-hour, 40-minute in-camera session at St Marys Town Hall. Also attending were Living Life committee members Reid Dundas, Stephanie Ische, Bruce Kittmer, Rick Vanderschot and Pat Payton.
The St Marys Ontario Arena expansion will include a second ice pad, a three-pool aquatic park, a rock climbing wall, two new lighted outdoor soccer fields, an indoor walking and jogging track, multi-dimensional meeting rooms and new offices.
Estimated cost of the project was $10.89 million. It was proposed that funds come from fundraising (36%) - $4 million; Federal and provincial funding (32%) - $3.45 million; Corporation of the Town of St. Marys (24%) - $2.65 million; and the Township of Perth South (7%) - $790,000.
